EasyJet to launch brand new flights from regional airport this year for just £24

EASYJET has announced a new route to Paris from a small UK airport for this winter.

Passengers in Yorkshire will soon be able to book city breaks to the French capital, with new flights setting off from Leeds Bradford from October this year.

The twice weekly service will take off on Mondays and Fridays, from October 28 and will continue through the winter until March 28 next year.

Tickets for the flights are on sale now and can already be booked via the airline’s website from £23.99.

Tom Holdsworth, Leeds Bradford‘s aviation development manager, said the new flights showed the increase in demand for European flights from the airport.

He told the Telegraph and Argus: “Paris is one of the world’s most iconic cities, and this addition to our growing network is a reflection of the increasing demand from the region’s holidaymakers to visit some of the most sought after destinations in Europe.”

EasyJet also has plans for multiple weekly flights to Geneva in Switzerland from Leeds Bradford.

They will fly for a six-week period starting from January 18, 2025.

The new services are part of the short-term future for Leeds Bradford, but the airport also has some ambitious long-term plans too.

Recently, its CEO Vincent Hodder revealed that conversations are taking place with airlines about connecting the airport to further flung destinations for the first time in its history.

Vincent claimed that long-haul routes to places like America and the Middle East are being discussed with airlines.

Included in the proposed new destinations are cities like New York, Boston and Chicago, while Jeddah, Oman and Dubai are being targeted too.

Hodder told the BBC : “We’re already having those conversations with airlines from North America and the Middle East about how we can collectively work together to make those things happen over the next two to three years.

“I would be disappointed if by 2027 we did not have flights to North America and the Middle East.”

Leeds Bradford isn’t the only small airport to be getting new easyJet flights this year, with three new routes launched at Southend.

Flights will soon be jetting off to both Reus and Almeria in Spain, as well as Malta, all from the Essex regional travel hub.

New flight routes being launched from the UK

Leeds Bradford is also getting new Jet2 routes for next year as part of the airline’s “biggest ever” programme of winter city breaks.

Destinations include Athens, Barcelona, Budapest, Krakow, Paris, Prague, Rome, Vienna and Venice.

Flights will be available from several airports all over the country, also including East Midlands, Edinburgh and Birmingham.

Meanwhile, passengers from Manchester Airport will be able to fly to Porto on two weekly flights launching in November 2025.

New flights will also operate from Glasgow Airport, with three destinations on offer: Rome, Krakow and Prague.

The same cities will be available from Newcastle.

The new routes will start next spring, with the first flights set to take off on March, 2025.

Tickets for those flights can also be purchased now.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “We are delighted to be putting ten new routes on sale from our new base at London Southend Airport, which we look forward to opening next spring.

“We have flown more than seven million customers from London Southend since we started our operation there in 2012 and, whether they are flying for business or leisure, we look forward to welcoming even more of them onboard.”
