Created by Paul Rutman, the thriller takes place in contemporary London.

A synopsis reads: “In the heart of London, an anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives – a young woman in the early stages of her career and a well connected man determined to protect his legacy – into a fight to correct an old miscarriage of justice.”

Series one launched on the streamer in January, with eight episodes.

In the second season, June is on the scene as a senior officer as a political rally faces an attack from far-right counter protesters.

The ensuing violent clash results in a young man’s death – and a guilt-ridden June is desperate to bring the unknown killer to justice.

Daniel may be her best hope, now being a key figure in the mysterious world of police intelligence.

While he possibly the answers June needs, she will have to accept a dangerous bargain to get his help.

In other work, Peter Capaldi played the Twelfth Doctor in Doctor Who, succeeding Matt Smith and followed by Jodie Whittaker.

He also starred as Malcolm Tucker in BBC comedy series The Thick of It from 2005 to 2012.

In 1993, the Scottish star won an Oscar for writing and directing short film Franz Kafka’s It’s A Wonderful Life.

Meanwhile, London-born Cush Jumbo has made a splash on US TV.

She played attorney Lucca Quinn in The Good Wife and later spin-off The Good Fight.

The 38-year-old is also well-known to Vera viewers for her role as DC Bethany Whelan.

Cush initially appeared in the beloved ITV crime drama in 2012, but later returned from 2015 to 2016.
