With new owner, Glens Falls eatery changing its name

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Glens Falls restaurant is getting ready to change it's name with a final farewell. Craft on 9 will be known as Southpaw Bistro after Saturday, August 24.

Chef Shaun Hazlitt took over the restaurant in April from Rob Murphy who began experiencing some health issues. A benefit for Murphy is being held on Saturday and will mark the official transition from Craft on 9 to Southpaw Bistro.

Many of the menu items have already changed under Hazlitt's ownership and the menu rotates depending on which farm fresh ingredients are available. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Hazlitt previously worked as chef at Chateau on the Lake in Bolton Landing, Villa Balsamo in Saratoga Springs, and Morgan and Co. and Bistro Tahlullah in Glens Falls. He also owns Big Bear Co., a food truck and catering business out of North Creek.

Southpaw Bistro is having a ribbon cutting with the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce on Friday, September 13. The restaurant is located at 7 South Street in Glens Falls.
