‘Don’t order linen trousers from Shein’ woman cries as she shows off mortifying blunder with her white work pair

A WOMAN has issued an urgent warning not to buy linen trousers from Shein, after suffering a mortifying mistake with hers.

Keli had wanted some pale trousers for work, so had decided to order a cheap white pair from Shein.

She couldn’t help but laugh when she saw they were see-through and skintight

But when she tried them on, she realised there was no way she could wear them to work – as they were almost entirely see-through.

The only thing that was protecting Keli’s modesty was the large pockets in the front of the trousers, which were also skintight.

“Guys, look what’s happened to my linen trousers,” she said in a video on her TikTok page, as she struggled to control her laughter.

“I was gonna wear these for work!” she giggled.

She then moved away from the camera to show the full effect of the trousers, turning around to show the view from the back too.

“What the…” she could be heard saying as she turned off the camera.

“Don’t order linen trousers from Shein!” Keli added in the caption.

And she soon realised thanks to the comments on the video that she certainly wasn’t the only one to have had a trouser fail like hers.

“This happened to mine from Stradavarius too,” one wrote.

“They were baggy then skin tight!”

“I got mine from Boohoo and look the same – was mortified nearly didn’t realise,” another said.

With Keli replying: “I’m so glad I tried them on before I left for work!”

“I bought a pair washed them once and they’re half way up my leg,” a third admitted.

“Happened to mine from primark,” someone else said.

As Keli responded: “Can’t believe so many are getting conned -probably not even linen!”

“This happened to my Zara ones,” another wrote.

What is Shein and is it legit?

Shein is an online-only fast-fashion retailer, based out of China, that has become a number one shopping destination for many around the world.

The company was valued at $66billion in 2023, dwarfing that of popular high street brands Zara and H&M.

The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008, by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.

Shein is a legitimate selling website and is not a phishing scam.

But you may receive a disappointing order or run into shipping issues if you order from the site, according to reviews.

There have been swathes of quality complaints, which makes sense when looking at the price tag.

“So glad I’m not the only one I thought what the actual HELL!” Keli replied.

Others suggested a couple of ways she might be able to fix the trousers, with one writing: “Those are not linen, it’s some other blend.

“Just iron them.”

“If it’s a viscose blend, you need to steam or iron to relax the fibres,” another explained.

As someone else said: “This happened to me with my Bershka pants!!

“I fixed them by literally just stretching them – pulling and rolling the lengths up to my thighs and keeping them up till they’ve loosened back to normal!”

While someone else said: “Marks & Spencer do the best linen trousers!!

“Washed mines loads and never shrank in the wash.”

“Ok amazing!” Keli replied.

“I need some new ones!”
