Omega Sets Sail for Barcelona 2024 with New Seamaster 300 42MM
Busy times for Omega: just two weeks after completing its role as Official Timekeeper at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris, the Swiss brand is preparing to resume its timekeeping duties for the 37th America’s Cup. The Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup will be held in Barcelona between August 22 and October 27, 2024. After 2000, 2003 and 2021, this is the fourth time that Omega has taken on the role of timekeeper for sailing’s oldest international competition. To mark the occasion, Omega is releasing the Seamster 300 42MM America’s Cup Edition.
The Master Chronometer certified diver’s watch pays tribute to its nautical theme with intricate details. Its white luminescent dial is laser-engraved with a wave motif in positive relief, and the counterpart of the second hand in “Barcelona blue” is reminiscent of the America’s Cup. Most importantly, it has a regatta function on the blue ceramic insert of its unidirectional bezel. It consists of two 5-minute pre-start sections and a start section with a regatta-inspired flag.
This stylish addition to the coveted Seamaster Diver 300M line, first launched in 1993, retains all the collection’s key features such as the 300m water resistance, skeletonized hour and minute hands and helium escape valve. However, the 42mm diameter stainless steel case is fitted with an exhibition caseback that pays tribute to the race with the 37th America’s Cup logo, including the “Auld Mug”.
The Omega caliber 8806 Master Chronometer with a power reserve of 55 hours powers the watch. It has been certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) to guarantee precision, performance and magnetic resistance.
The Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Edition is available with a bracelet or a blue rubber strap, priced at $6,500 respectively $6,200.
