Ultenic T10 Pro review: this budget-friendly robot vacuum rivals the most expensive brands

IF you’re here, it’s probably because you’re considering taking the plunge into the world of smart vacuums, but have no idea where to start looking.

Unlike most home appliances, specialist brands associated with robot vacuums aren’t necessarily household names, so making a decision can be tricky.

Here, I’ve done some of the hard work for you by doing an Ultenic T10 Pro review.

It’s a brand many won’t have come across before (it was only founded in 2021), but the Chinese company is making waves in the convenience cleaning market with its innovative smart home products.

Specialising in smart vacuums, Ultenic aims to redefine household chores with cutting-edge technology.

The T10 model, one of the brand’s original designs, has maintained its status as a flagship product.

Over the years, Ultenic has made several enhancements, culminating in the latest high-end version: the T10 Pro, which I put to the test.

Pros:

  • Super easy set up
  • Charging station takes up less space than many in this price range
  • Self-emptying and returns to the station automatically after cleaning

Cons:

  • Mopping function is not as straightforward as the vacuum function
  • Struggles with heavy debris
  • Mapping could get complicated for split-level homes

Rating: 4/5

Ultenic T10 Pro review: how we tested

I tested the T10 over four weeks in my single-level one-bed flat which I share with my partner.

We have both carpeted and hard floors, so I was able to get a sense of how the T10 Pro performs over each surface.

However, as my flat is on one level, I wasn’t able to see how the T10 works over multiple floors.

Ultenic T10 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop, £429.99 £309.99

The Ultenic T10 Pro is a good pick for anyone looking for an entry-level smart vacuum, especially at its (comparatively) budget-friendly price of £309.99.

It boasts an array of useful features like self-emptying, accurate collision sensors and an easy-to-use app, making it great value for anyone trying to reduce their time spent on household chores.

The vacuum performs well on both carpeted and hard floors, though it struggles with larger debris and ground-in dirt or hair.

The mopping function is less impressive, needing frequent refills on larger areas and lacking the cleaning power needed to remove dried stains.

Its compact, stylish design saves space, and the battery life is substantial, allowing for multiple cleanings on a single charge.

However, users with multi-level homes might find the mapping function less intuitive.

Overall, the T10 Pro is an excellent choice for those seeking a smart vacuum with advanced features at a competitive price.

Unboxing

The Ultenic T10 Pro arrived in a minimalist box

The T10 Pro arrived in a neat box, adorned with the kind of modern, minimalist design you might expect from a quality tech brand.

Inside the box, I found a safely packed main vacuum unit, auto-empty base/charging station, remote control (with batteries included), cleaning brush, mop attachment, user guides and spare mop, plus a side brush and Hepa filter.

Setup

Thankfully, the T10 arrived with enough charge (30%) to give my whole flat a quick once-over.

The setup took very little time and involved nothing more than putting together the charging station, downloading the Ultenic app and connecting the T10 to my wifi router.

This whole process took around 15 minutes and once I was done, the T10 was able to create an accurate digital layout of each room in my flat using mapping technology.

After starting up the auto-clean function using the user-friendly Ultenic app, the vacuum left its home and began its first clean, taking note of any furniture along the way with its laser sensors.

Ultenic T10 Pro review: price and availability

The T10 is currently available for $399.99 (£312.74) directly from the Ultenic website.

As well as being available direct from Ultenic, the T10 Pro can be found on Amazon, where the price jumps considerably to £429.99 – but it’s currenty on offer for £309.99, a saving of 28%.

This puts it in the budget category of vacuum robots, with some high-end products reaching up to £1500.

For this price, the amount of functions available on the T10 is quite impressive.

The battery lasts longer than some similarly priced big-name products on the market.

Plus many more well-known brands, such as the iRobot Roomba series, don’t offer things like no-go zones and self-emptying until you hit the over-£400 mark.

Ultenic T10 Pro review: design and build

Aesthetically, robot vacuums tend to follow a similar pattern: cylindrical, glossy, monochromatic… think a futuristic Hypno-disc without the metal spikes (yes, that’s a Robot Wars reference).

The T10 fits fairly typically into this category with a sleek, minimalist white design.

The charging station is less bulky than some others which is handy if you don’t have a huge space so keep it in, and the flat top makes a good place to display your potted plants!

Ultenic T10 Pro review: features and performance

Vacuum function:

As far as vacuum’s go, the T10’s motor is on the smaller side so I wasn’t expecting much in terms of power – but actually I was pleasantly surprised by the results.

Just about every inch of dust and smaller pieces of debris get sucked up in one go. However, larger bits and hair that had gotten stuck to the carpet refused to budge from the T10 alone, and required a more powerful vacuum.

Mop function:

The mopping function is less impressive than the vacuum. It can handle some small spills, as long as they’re still wet, but it lacks the elbow grease to wash away any dried-in stains.

Another issue is the water tank is quite small, so requires topping up for larger areas. On the highest water flow level, the T10 lasted just under an hour before I had to refill it.

To make this slight inconvenience more frustrating, the app doesn’t alert you when you’re low on water, so requires a regular check-in if you’re trying to mop a large area.

Remember to wash your mop pads after each use! I made the mistake of forgetting to do this after the first mop and can confirm they start to pong quite quickly.

Collision sensors:

I can’t really fault the sensors. Their ability to find and avoid any hurdles during a clean is as good as any smart vacuum I’ve come across before.

Ultenic claims the T10 can also recognise and avoid staircases, but does recommend blocking off these areas if possible to avoid accidental damage.

I took the risk a few times so you don’t have to, and can confirm the T10 was able to avoid hurling itself down any flights of stairs, even at the end of the most gruelling clean-up.

Auto recharge:

Once the T10 is done sucking up dust and mopping your floors, it will alert you that another hard day of work is over and head back home to its charging station.

The parallel parking can take a minute or two to get absolutely perfect, but be patient: it will get there in the end.

Once docked, the T10 will self-empty its contents into the dust bag (cover your ears for this part) and start disinfecting the contents of your floors.

The T10 will then begin its charge, which by my watch, took just over five hours to complete from a completely dead battery.

Ultenic T10 Pro review: app

You do get a nifty little remote control to use with the T10, but I would recommend sticking with the app.

It’s easy to use, compatible with IOS & Android, gives you full control over all the available functions and provides you with a nice map to follow while the T10 gets its work done.

Using the app, you can choose particular spots or rooms to clean if you want to focus on a single area. You can also set up no-go areas within your home (which is particularly useful if you have children or pets and don’t want the T10 getting in their way) as well as schedule cleans throughout the day.

Another handy function is in the event the vacuum gets stuck on a cable or extra large piece of debris, the app will alert you so you can triumphantly come and save it.

Ultenic T10 Pro review: battery life

Ultenic has given the T10 a 250 minute runtime, which after thoroughly cleaning my flat several times in a row, I’ve found to be about right.

My whole one-bed flat can be cleaned in about 60 minutes, so at full charge, the battery should have enough juice to clean an average-sized house in one session.

Ultenic T10 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop, £429.99 £309.99

If you’re looking for a well-priced, reliable and good-looking smart vacuum cleaner with a few high-end applications thrown in, then you can’t do much better than the Ultenic T10.

The vacuum cleaner works great and can go for hours on a single charge.

The only real downside is the mopping function, so if this is important, it may be worth looking for something in a higher price bracket.

But if your main concern is a decent vacuum that’s going to do the job for you without any dramas, then the T10 is a safe bet.
