Soul food eatery opens its doors in Gloversville

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A new restaurant serving Southern cuisine has opened in Gloversville. Adirondack Soul Company, located at 60 North Main Street, opened on August 12 for its soft opening.

Owners Michael and Angela Chase live in Gloversville and had been thinking of opening a restaurant for a few years now. They also own Rehoboth Valley, Inc., a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the education, enrichment, preservation and well-being of Mohawk Valley residents.

"There are limited food options in Fulton County," Michael Chase told NEWS10. "We are able to feed people at a convenient price in a great location."

Adirondack Soul Company serves baked chicken, barbecue ribs, meatloaf, carrot soufflé, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, cornbread, white rice, and vegan chili. After the grand opening, the Chases plan to add collared greens, curried chicken, and other regional Soul food to the menu.

"I lean on the lineage of my mom, grandmother and those passed down recipes you can't learn in a school environment," said Michael Chase.

The Chases are planning a grand opening with the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce in mid to late September. The grand opening will include live music, great food and a raffle.

Adirondack Soul Company is currently open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. After the grand opening, the restaurant will stay open to 9 p.m. on those nights. You can place an order through DoorDash or calling the restaurant at (518) 290-1182.
