Subway Announces Major Price Cut to Famous Footlongs

At one point in time, Subway was one of the most ubiquitous fast food brands in the country thanks to its unforgettable "$5 footlong" campaign. The famous deal came to an end nearly a decade ago, but those customers wanting a delicious 12-inch sandwich for cheap (or at least, cheaper) are about to have their wishes granted.

From Aug. 26 to Sept. 8, Subway will be selling all of its footlong sandwiches for just $6.99. You can choose any footlong sub on the menu or create your own sandwich to take advantage of the deal. The company acknowledged that many of today's customers are looking to save money wherever they can, so this latest offering is their way of meeting guests where they are.

"Today's diner is stretched more than ever, and too often that means a tradeoff on quality, variety, or flavor to find an affordable meal," Subway North America president Doug Fry said in a statement. "At Subway, our definition of value is a mix of delicious options at the right price without compromising quality. Our menu is full of footlongs for every budget, and this new deal means our guests can get the sandwiches they crave at a great value."

The footlong deal is only for a limited time, but you can still snag one of three Sidekicks, footlong items in stores that were introduced earlier at the top of this year. This includes a footlong cookie for $5, a churro topped with Cinnabon cinnamon for $2, and an Auntie Anne's pretzel served with a side of Subway honey mustard for $3.

Be sure to take advantage of the savings while you can.
