Royal Experts Are Predicting the One Reason Why Prince William & Prince Harry Will Reunite

Prince William and Prince Harry’s rift runs deep. The brothers are reportedly at the stage where they are giving each other the silent treatment, and there is no hope for reconciliation. The feud is at the point where royal experts are guessing the next major event when they will see each other in person.

There have been rumors that the Prince of Wales has already thought about what his coronation would look like, and it would not involve having his little brother in attendance. “I believe it 100 percent,” an insider told The Daily Beast. “Why would William and Kate want all the distraction and circus that his presence would bring?” The palace source believes that “William will see Harry one more time in his life in the flesh—at their father’s funeral.” That’s a pretty grim outlook. 

While royal fans have no idea when William’s coronation day will come, the plans are already underway just in case something happens to King Charles III. As of right now, a second source noted that “there are no plans to invite Harry” because of “how poisoned the well has become.” The outside perception has always been that the brothers were close growing up, but Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, revealed that there’s “always been this competition” between them. 

The Duke of Sussex explained to Good Morning America in 2023 why he described William as his “archenemies” in his book. “I think it really plays into or was played by, the ‘heir/spare,’ and the British press’ part in that. They pitched the Waleses — of which Kate and William are now — against the Sussexes, me and my wife,” he said. “They’ve always pitched us against each other. They pitched Kate and Meghan against each other.”

Harry even admitted that he felt like he lost his brother forever the moment William married Kate Middleton in 2011. “The brother I’d escorted into Westminster Abbey that morning was gone — forever,” the Duke of Sussex wrote in Spare. “…Who shall separate us? Life, that’s who. And I recall Willy walking her back up the aisle, and as they disappeared through the door, into the carriage that would convey them to Buckingham Palace, into the eternal partnership they’d pledged, I recall thinking: Goodbye.”

The turn in their relationship likely stemmed from the loss of their mother, Princess Diana, in 1997 — she would never have allowed her beloved sons to carry on a years-long feud. Instead, the world had taken sides in the royal battle, and the next time they meet face-to-face could be at another sad milestone in their lives.
