More interleague action at the Coliseum

As the A’s continue on with one of their longest home stretches of the 2024 season, today they’ll welcome the National League Central leading Milwaukee Brewers to town to start a best of three.

Good afternoon and happy Friday A’s fans; we’ve finally made it to the weekend!

After the A’s beat the Tampa Bay Rays by a final of 3-1 to earn a series split yesterday, the green and gold still have dropped just one series since Julys All-Star Game break. The A’s are now 6-4 in their last ten and 25-17 since July 1st.

Getting the pitching nod for Mark Kotsay tonight is JP Sears who’ll be making his team-high 26th start of the season. He’s 10-8 with a 4.15 ERA but over his last four starts, Sears is 3-0 going 7+ frames in each outing.

Below is the lineup behind Sears tonight:

Opposing Sears for the Brew Crew is Aaron Civale, the 29-year-old righty.

A top-10 offense in regard to stats like batting average, walks and OBP, the Brewers are led namely at the plate by Willy Adames, Rhys Hoskins, William Contreras and Jackson Chourio. Former MVP and left fielder Christian Yelich was sidelined with season-ending back surgery last week in the midst of a solid season but the Brewers haven’t seemed to slow down since. They took 2/3 from the Los Angeles Dodgers last week and immediately followed it up by sweeping the Cleveland Guardians.

Here’s the lineup for the Brewers as written by manager Tom Murphy:

Let’s go A’s!
