Betsy Swain turns on Mason after humiliating ordeal in Coronation Street – and she wants revenge
CORONATION Street spoilers reveal tensions between Betsy Swain and Mason Radcliffe.
The troublesome pair have been growing closer as of late, much to viewers’ disgust.
However, it appears their dynamic will soon take a turn for the worst.
In upcoming scenes, Mason (Luca Toolan) informs Betsy (Sydney Martin) that he’s saving up to rent nearby.
Meanwhile, Betsy persuades him to ditch his shift at Speed Daal and come back to hers.
With her mum DS Swain (Victoria Myers) at work, they’ll have the house to themselves.
When Mason is non committal about plans to hang out again, Betsy finishes with him.
The bully is later unimpressed when he finds Betsy chatting to Dylan (Liam McCheyne), telling them they deserve each other.
While Dylan assures Mason that he and Betsy aren’t an item, Betsy makes a point of kissing him upon seeing Mason.
Calling at Speed Daal later on, Betsy confesses that she wanted to make Mason jealous.
After her former love interest makes his disinterest clear, a humiliated Betsy steals a customer’s purse and slips it into Mason’s jacket.
Having discovered her purse missing, the customer lets rip into Yasmeen and Stu.
As Mason puts on his jacket, he’s horrified to realise Betsy’s set him up.
Will he be discovered?
Since arriving in Weatherfield, conniving Betsy has targeted Carla Connor (Alison King) and Joel Deering (Calum Lill) in blackmailing schemes.
Recent scenes saw her open up to mum DS Swain that Joel was threatening her, as she showed her all their messages.

CORONATION STREET
Shelley/Peter/Lucy: Peter Barlow took the concept of a love triangle and ran with it in Coronation Street – extending it to bigamy.
He was in a relationship with Shelley Unwin but started dating Lucy Richards, and quickly married her after she fell pregnant with his son, Simon.
But it didn’t stop him also marrying Shelley, but he was eventually caught when Lucy turned up in Weatherfield and the two women confronted him.
Ken/Deidre/Mike: Back in 1982, Deirdre Barlow started sleeping with her husband’s nemesis Mike Baldwin in secret, before confessing all a year later.
When Mike turned up at the marital home, Deirdre was being throttled by her husband who then kicked her out, but years later they reconciled.
Maria/Aidan/Eva: In 2017, Aidan Connor started sleeping with girlfriend Eva Price’s best friend, Maria Connor.
Eva eventually found out and she decided to take revenge by faking a pregnancy, spending his money and planned to confront him on their wedding day.
But she had a change of heart when a remorseful Aidan confessed, and decided to marry him anyway, only for Maria to arrive and expose her fake pregnancy.
EMMERDALE
Ross/Debbie/Pete: Debbie Dingle found herself torn between two brothers, Ross and Pete Barton in 2015 in Emmerdale.
She eventually decided to marry Pete but yet again, a soap wedding day was ruined when the groom learned of his bride’s betrayal via a recording played at the wedding.
Chrissie/Robert/Aaron: Robert Sugden was married to Chrissie White and all seemed well – until he began a steamy affair with Aaron Dingle.
Robert’s ex Katie Sugden almost exposed the affair – but fell to her death before she had the chance.
However, a guilty Aaron eventually cracked and told Chrissie about the affair – after which she announced it to the whole pub.
As for Mason, he relentlessly bullied Liam Connor Jr (Charlie Wrenshall), causing the youngster to consider suicide as a way out, though Liam’s family fortunately got involved in time.
The villain threatened Liam with a knife and intimidated his friend Dylan into keeping quiet about what really happened.
Although found guilty in April, Mason returned to screens just two months later.
