‘Saw it & my stomach growled’ folk say as woman shares her unique baby name – but people say it sounds like a sausage
A MUM has been slammed after announcing the unique baby name she gave her daughter.
Picking the perfect moniker for your baby is no easy task as most parents know.
From sticking to family tradition to find inspiration in the media, there’s lots of ways to come up with your child’s name.
But one trend that hasn’t been going down well is to use a rather common name but give it a twist by switching out the consonants to make the spelling different.
And one mum who has decided to use that particular method for her baby daughter has been slammed.
Taking to social media, she revealed her daughter’s name was Chozen.
In the picture, the um had placed all of the baby items she had got customised with her daughter’s name.
These included dummies, bottles, bibs, baby grows and a blanket which were all pink and gold themed.
The mum was clearly very excited and proud of the name she had picked – but the same couldn’t be said for others.
Many people were left shocked by the name choice and while i twas clear it was the word ‘Chosen’ spelt with a Z, many said it reminded them of something else – a chorizo sausage.
In Europe, Spanish chorizo and Portuguese chouriço is a fermented, cured, smoked sausage which gets its smokiness and deep red colour from dried, smoked, red peppers.
It may be sliced and eaten without cooking, or added as an ingredient to add flavour to other dishes.
The post soon went viral on the Facebook group, That name isn’t a tragedeigh, it’s a murghdyrr, with over 300 likes and hundreds of comments.
People were quick to point out it was a bizarre choice of spelling and it reminded them of food instead.
One person wrote: “Saw the name and my stomach growled. Now I need some spicy sausage!”
Another commented: “My brain: CHORIZO.”

“I read it as chorizo and am now disappointed,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “It sucks.”
