Punjab SHOCKER: Gunmen Shoot NRI In Front Of Wife, Kids At His Amritsar Home | WATCH

Amritsar Shooting: In a shocking incident of lawlessness, two motorcycle-borne gunmen stormed the home of a non-resident Indian (NRI) man Amritsar district in Punjab on Saturday and shot him in front of wife, mother, and kids even as the family begged the assailants to spare him.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras and showed the victim, Sukhchain Singh, a US-based NRI who recently returned to his native Daburji village on the outskirts of Punjab’s Amritsar city, being forced inside his home at gunpoint by the two assailants.

The gunmen then ask him to handover the registration papers of his newly-bought luxury car, which he refused, leading to a scuffle as the attacker manhandle Singh and fired three shots at him while his family pleaded them to spare his life, the CCTV clip showed.

The assailants fled the scene after their guns jammed, the video showed.

Singh sustained two bullet injuries– one to the chest and another in the head– and was rushed to a private hospital for treatment, the police said.

Giving details, a senior police officer said Singh was going for a morning walk when the bike-borne assailants intercepted him outside his house and forced him inside at gunpoint and later shot him in front of his family members, including his wife and his two children from his first marriage.

The horrific episode was captured on CCTV cameras installed at Sukchain’s house, showing the victim’s family, including his children, begging the attackers to let him go.

Police said they have obtained CCTV footage of the attack and launched an investigation.

The victim’s second wife has accused his ex-wife’s family of orchestrating the attack and lodged an FIR against five people, all family members of Singh’s first wife.

Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for NRI affairs Kuldeep S Dhaliwal said the attack may have been the fallout of a personal dispute.
Dhaliwal asserted that property and personal disputes related to NRIs are common nowadays and this could have been another such case, adding the matter is being verified.
