Major supermarket is giving away FREE pastries if you spend just 1p – check 4-step method how to claim

SAVVY shoppers can win themselves free pastries at a major supermarket if they spend money in stores.

Scanning the grocery giant’s phone app when making a purchase this month will see customers receive a digital coupon for a complimentary bakery item.

Shoppers at Lidl only need to buy one item to qualify – excluding baby formula and gift cards – meaning, in theory, spending just 1p would result in a free pastry worth up to 99p.

You can get a coupon after every shop you do this month, as long as it has been more than 24 hours since your last purchase.

Only one bakery item coupon can be redeemed in one go.

After buying something and scanning your Plus card app at the till, look in the ‘Prizes’ section of the app and choose the ‘Lidl bakery super spin’.

A virtual wheel is then spun to discover which free bakery item you will win.

Shoppers will receive a choice of two bakery goods, and the coupon will be valid for seven days.

It will need to be activated in the ‘Lidl Plus for You’ part of the app before shoppers go to the till.

The offer excludes Northern Ireland.

The promotion has been running since August 1, and ends when September begins.

Users must be 18 or over, a British resident – excluding Northern Ireland – and a Lidl Plus app holder.

Lidl Plus is a virtual rewards card that you have to download Lidl’s free app to claim.

The Plus card app lets you unlock money-off coupons when you reach your spending targets each month, and is a great way to save on Lidl’s already low prices.

Once this coupon pops up though, you only have seven days to use it, so you’ll need to be quick.

What you can use it on will be subject to the availability of products at your local store too.
