‘I ain’t f***ing doing it’ – Edgar Davids stormed out of live TV show after rant that saw Sky Sports forced to apologise

EDGAR DAVIDS once stormed out of a live TV show, blasting: “I ain’t f***ing doing it.”

The Dutch football icon, 51, enjoyed a special career on the pitch.

He played for some of the biggest clubs in world football, starting out at Ajax before spells with AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and Inter Milan – winning the Champions League in 1995 with the Dutch giants.

Davids then spent much of the latter part of his career in England with Tottenham, Crystal Palace and finally in the Conference with Barnet.

But during his stint in London, he spent a day as a guest at Sky Sports – although things did not quite go to plan as he swore on air and then refused to stick it out until the end.

His appearance on Goals On Sunday prompted Davids to tell a story about his time in non-league.

Former Sky presenter Scott Minto revealed: “He wasn’t really getting involved, to the point where people were sort of shouting at him to get into the game.

“He turns to them and says, ‘I’m Edgar f****** Davids!’ But he said that on air, on Sky.

“So, obviously, there was a massive apology and everything carried on as normal.”

And things went from bad to worse when Davids stayed on to help cover the action from Spain – and flew into an X-rated meltdown.

Ex-Chelsea man Minto, speaking at the launch of Ladbrokes’ Gaffer of all Accas, added: “We had a triple-header of Spanish football on that night, which was a six-hour show.

“It just meant you had to be completely on it at all times, you had to be concise, it was pretty intense for the whole six hours.

“Before the show had started, I’d bumped into Edgar and just thought I’d introduce myself.

“‘Hi Edgar. Scott Minto, I’m presenting tonight. Really good of you to do tonight… it’s going to be a long day, we’ve got three games.’

“‘I ain’t doing f***ing three games. I’m only doing two.’

“‘Oh, well we’re down to do three.’

“‘I ain’t f***ing doing three.’

“So I go back to the producer and let him know what Davids had said to me, and the producer just said it’d be fine.

“Guillem Balague is there with us, and we’re talking, and Davids is adamant he’s not doing the third game.

“At the end of the second game, we have to throw to a break before we start it, and Edgar just gets up and walks off. So it’s just me and Guillem for the third game.

“He didn’t do it on air, but yeah, he just left midway through the show.

“To be fair to him, it was a pretty long day. I don’t know why he or his agent agreed to that.”
