Austin Reaves featured in new NBA 2K25 trailer alongside Jayson Tatum, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Check another milestone off the list for Austin Reaves, who was featured in the new trailer for NBA 2K25.

The latest NBA 2K25 trailer dropped on Thursday with Austin Reaves as the best player featured in the ad. The trailer certainly had an interesting theme to it, which included Reaves, Jayson Tatum and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander being a bit too nice.

Normally, this would be the point in which I joke about Jayson Tatum being a future Laker. The man loves Kobe Bryant and even donned a jersey of the Black Mamba for a different commercial years ago.

However, he did just lead the Celtics to an NBA title to break the tie with the Lakers, so those jokes don’t feel as fun anymore. And then his whole Olympic experience, from playing poorly and being benched to half of Boston campaigning for him to get Mickey Mouse minutes in the rotation, gave people the ick.

Austin Reaves, though? He wasn’t benched in meaningful games for Team USA. He was one of the bright spots of the team when he played in an international competition. Not everyone is built for that, including SGA and the Canadian team, who crashed out of the Olympics this year as well.

If you came here looking for any insight into the game itself, you’ve come to the wrong place. I have played NBA 2K in recent years but it is...not my cup of tea anymore. I’m sure there’s all sorts of new features and innovative technology and industry-changing additions that you can find from other writers.
