I tested three under-eye concealers and one is sold in 44 different shades

DESPITE TikTok teens suggesting we ditch under-eye concealer, if you’re aged over 25 and struggle to sleep, you’ll be well aware just how vital is is to cover the dark circles.

Here I put three concealers to the test.

L’Oreal Paris True Match Radiant Serum concealer, £10.99 for 11ml, boots.com.

I’ve long believed that L’Oreal Paris creates some of the best base products on the high street, so this had a lot to live up to.

It’s very lightweight, so doesn’t feel heavy on the delicate under-eye area and can easily be layered.

But bear in mind that if you have dry skin, you’ll need to use hydrating skincare products first, otherwise the pigment will catch on rough areas and make them more noticeable.

The luminous finish means it stays quite tacky, so if you have oily skin you’ll need to set it with a powder.

Mid-range

M.A.C Studio Radiance 24 Hr Luminous Lift Concealer, £26 for 9ml
M.A.C

M.A.C Studio Radiance 24hr Luminous Lift Concealer, £26 for 9ml, maccosmetics.co.uk.

The first new concealer from Mac in many years, I expected big things and it does not disappoint.

The hard-working formula is packed with 31 skincare ingredients, including niacinamide, vitamin C and hyaluronic to soothe skin and improve radiance over time while also hydrating immediately.

The formula is thicker than I imagine, so you get pretty good coverage with one swipe, and it comes in a commendable 44 shades, which means almost everyone will find a perfect match.

A great option for anyone with pronounced shadows or discoloration.

It’s super-brightening, really creamy, and easy to blend so you can tailor the coverage.

Even after a few layers, it doesn’t look caked on or dry, and it contains antioxidants and peptides to help improve hydration and reduce lines and pigmentation long term.

But disappointingly, there are only five shades.
