Mindy Kaling Kicks Off Fall in Blue Work Boots at The Great and Red Wing Heritage Collaboration Launch Dinner in Los Angeles
Mindy Kaling attended a limited-edition collaboration launch for The Great and Red Wing Heritage held in Los Angeles on Aug. 22.
The collab is focused around a work boot silhouette, updated in color-blocked shades of indigo, army green and brown. The boot also features special floral-embossed brown leather. The Great designers Emily Current and Meritt Elliott hosted the event at their favorite Los Angeles-based restaurant All Time. Beyond Kaling, other notable attendees included friends and followers of the brand Kristen Bell, Mandy Moore, Rachel Bilson and Nikki Reed, among others.
The “Inside Out” star flattered her feet in the collaborative work boot silhouette in various shades of blue, tan and cream. Leather uppers gave way to lace-up closures, thick rubber soles fitted with non-slip tread and contrasting white stitching. Although they were eclipsed beneath the hem of her trousers, Kaling’s footwear appeared to be ankle-length. Many of the event’s attendees wore the collaborative footwear, aptly repping both brands.
The “A Wrinkle in Time” actress wore a breezy collared shirt, hailing from The Great’s latest fall collection. Retailing for $225, the bowling-inspired style featured blue accents that mirrored the color scheme of her collaborative footwear, along with embroidered floral detailing and a unique scalloped hem. On the bottom, Kaling sported simple white trousers in a tailored style. On the accessories front, the screenwriter sported a variety of silver jewelry, imparting a high-shine touch.
Kaling never shies away from a bold look, often wearing ensembles with bright colors, glamorous textures and joyful prints from brands including Oscar de la Renta, Retrofete and Tory Burch. The “Mindy Project” creator’s optimistic wardrobe also features an array of colorful sandals and pumps from designers like Stuart Weitzman, Christian Louboutin and Sophia Webster. When off-duty, she can also be spotted in Hoka One One sneakers, Adidas slides and Kate Spade sandals.
