According to the cash-savvy mother, who works at Sainsbury’s, her crafty son totally transformed their living room by building and installing a media wall.

Adding a media wall can significantly improve the overall the aesthetic and functionality of your living space.

A media wall integrates your TV, storage, and other components into a seamless and stylish focal point, instantly making the area look more visually appealing.

As reported by My Builder, on average, media wall costs in the UK range anywhere from £500 to an eye-watering £4,000, with most homeowners forking out approximately £1,500 to £2,500 for materials and installation.

However, determined to keep the expenses as low as possible, Melanie and her son spent just a fraction of the price.

Sharing the epic glow-up on the DIY On A Budget Official page, the mother said: ”My son kindly built us a media wall, absolutely love it.”

She also broke down the total costs, which included timber for £72, £169 fireplace from the home goods store B&Q, as well as lights from Amazon for an affordable £27.

The project also included plaster boards, which the family already had, bringing the final costs down even more.

After assembling the timber together, the talented DIY whizz attached these in front of the old wall, before adding plaster boards on top.

Once ready, the massive TV screen went just above the chic fireplace, with several spare spaces surrounding it – these were then filled with adorable decor, such as mini planters and silver hearts.

The jaw-dropping transformation has since taken the social media platform by storm, racking up close to a staggering 3k likes.

Hundreds of fellow members of the group flocked to comments to praise the DIY-loving son and tagged their pals, clearly inspired to try building a media wall themselves.

”Looks fantastic,” one fan was amazed by the fabulous living room.

Another chimed in, writing: ”Wow looks fab!
