Oasis ‘set for Glastonbury headline slot and record breaking Wembley reunion run in 2025’

THE wait for an Oasis reunion appears to be over – with a huge comeback earmarked for next summer, according to reports.

Just weeks after it was claimed the Britpop band had planned a trio of dates at Wembley Stadium this summer only for them to fall through, it is now looking like they will take to the stage next year instead.

And what better way for it to happen that at the biggest show of them all: Glastonbury Festival.

An industry source told The Mail: “All the speculation about this reunion can get a bit tiresome. But there’s a genuine feeling that next summer’s Glastonbury will be too much of an attraction for Liam and Noel to turn down.

“They have been made aware of the headline slot that’s open for them next summer. Now it’s all down to them.”

While The Times reports that huge gigs have been planned for Manchester’s Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium.

There are even murmurings they could play 10 gigs at the home of English football, surpassing Taylor Swift‘s eight Eras Tour dates this summer.

Though brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher regularly trade barbs through the media, the latter was surprisingly complimentary of his younger sibling in a video celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal album Definitely Maybe.

He said: “When I would sing a song, it would sound good. When he sung it, it sounded great.”

A major stumbling block for a reunion had always been Noel’s wife Sarah MacDonald’s frosty relationship with Liam.

But now she and Noel have split, the brothers could heal old wounds without outside interference, and the mega money it would generate could help with a costly divorce settlement.

Liam and Noel famously fell out in 2009 – with Noel quitting hours before the band were due to perform on stage.

At the time, he released a statement saying that he could no longer work with his brother.

Both have had successful solo careers since, but there has always been a clamour from fans for the pair to bury the hatchet.
