New Iberia man killed in single-vehicle crash, state police say
IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A New Iberia man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday night in Jeanerette, Louisiana State Police say.
The crash claimed the life of 45-year-old Felix Richard.
In a news release Saturday, state police said the crash happened around 7 p.m. on LA Highway 87 near LSU Bridge Road in Jeanerette.
State police said Richard was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro south on Highway 87 when the vehicle veered off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle then struck an embankment before striking a tree, police said.
"Richard, who was unrestrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene," state police said.
