Youth held for molestation bid tries to escape from police custody, shot in leg

In Assam's Sonitpur district, police detained a youth for allegedly trying to molest two girls. As Miraz Ali faced questioning, he reportedly seized a police officer's pistol and attempted to flee. Officers fired and injured him in the leg. Earlier, bystanders had handed over another suspect, Shahrukh Hussain, to the police.
