McDonald’s to launch brand new shake in DAYS but you have to act fast to try one

MCDONALD’S lovers have just days to go before a brand new shake arrives in UK stores.

The Grimace Shake is already a hit stateside and went viral when it landed in US restaurants last year.

The new Grimace shake is coming to UK stores soon

The sweet drink is purple and features a blueberry flavoured syrup blended with a creamy milkshake base.

The drink is inspired by the fast food chains’ purple Grimace mascot, which was first introduced in the 1970s.

The fictional figure was initially an evil character who stole milkshakes from customers.

However, he later was rebranded as a more friendly cartoon.

It is set to land in McDonald’s 1,450 UK restaurants on August 28, giving customers just three days before they get the chance to try one.

However, London customers can get their hands on one as early as tomorrow.

Box Park Shoreditch is selling the Grimace Shake from 12pm-6pm on Monday, August 26.

If you are keen to try the product you will have to act quick.

The Grimace Shake will only be available for one-week only, meaning you’ll have to grab one before September 4.

The shake costs £2.69 for a medium size, while a large version of the shake is £2.99, though prices can vary depending on location.

The drink is already available in the US and is a fan favourite on social media.

It was launched in the US last June as a limited edition menu item and then launched in Canada this past May.

The shake is just one of many new items set to arrive at McDonald’s over the coming weeks.

In a few weeks, the burger and fries giant will be bringing back a number of fan favourites, including Mozzarella Dippers and the Philly Cheese Stack.

Other popular treats making a return include the Chicken Big Mac, Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry and the Twix Chocolate McFlurry.

It will also begin selling a brand new Twix Latte.

The new menu will come into effect on September 4 and this is when McDonald’s popular Monopoly game will be returning too.

All items will be available for six weeks.

How to save money at McDonald’s

You might not think it, but you can end up being charged more solely based on the McDonald’s restaurant you choose.

Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30p cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.

Meanwhile, you can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 by filling in a feedback survey found on any old McDonald’s receipt.

The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.

You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.

Make sure you check out all the various apps and platforms if you’re ordering McDonald’s to your home too.

Our research found some can charge up to £1.20 more than others
