Notting Hill Carnival 2024 LIVE: Route maps and start times for London event
Around one million people are expected to gather in Notting Hill today to celebrate the vibrant Caribbean cultural phenomenon that is the Notting Hill Carnival.
The festivities will kick off with the sound system stage starting around midday, with organiser promising everything from Rare Groove to House and Samba.
The celebrations will continue into Monday, culminating in the grand parade scheduled for tomorrow.
The Metropolitan Police have declared a “significant policing presence” in response to escalating tensions and the recent riots that surged through Britain’s streets earlier this month.
For those traveling to the Carnival, nearby stations that will remain open throughout the event include Paddington (serving the Bakerloo, Hammersmith & City, District, Circle, and Elizabeth lines) and Shepherd’s Bush (serving the Central line and Overground).
Stations with Service Disruptions:
- Ladbroke Grove: Closed all day.
- Westbourne Park: No entry from 11:00.
- Latimer Road: Closes at 23:30.
- Notting Hill Gate: No entry from 11:00 to 18:00. District and Circle lines will not stop, and no interchange between the Central Line and District/Circle lines all day.
- Holland Park: No entry from 11:00 to 15:00.
- Royal Oak: No entry from 11:00 to 18:00; station closes at 18:00.
