‘I went to boarding school I can handle it’ says popular BBC star as they eye up place on Strictly
A BARGAIN Hunt star has revealed that he would still participate in Strictly Come Dancing despite the recent drama.
The BBC competition series has faced a lot of controversy as two professional dancers from Strictly were accused of misconduct.
Giovanni Pernice has been investigated for alleged bullying behaviour towards actress Amanda Abbington on last year’s show.
Meanwhile fellow Italian pro Graziano Di Prima was sacked after video footage emerged of him allegedly kicking his celebrity partner, Zara McDermott.
But this does not daunt antiques expert Thomas Forrester.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, when asked if there are any other BBC shows he’d be interested in besides Bargain Hunt, he shared: “Well naturally I’d love to do Strictly.
“But I’ve got two left feet. I like to think I can dance.”
After being probed about whether he would have any qualms about how he would be treated on the series after hearing the recent allegations, Thomas laughed.
“I went to boarding school,” he said. “I’m fine. Nobody could – it doesn’t compare.”
Thomas was speaking to The Sun as he prepares to host the charity auction at Oxfordshire’s ‘OxTrail’ for Sobell House Hospice.
The results of the Strictly probe into Giovanni’s behaviour towards Amanda are set to be revealed this week.
Jude and choreographer Craig Revel Horwood issued a demand to the BBC, saying the results of the bullying investigation should be released “sooner rather than later”.
Strictly bosses have started implementing new rules after the show was plunged into chaos when Graziano Di Prima was axed from the show following claims he claims he hit, spat at and kicked Zara McDermott.
They are considering hiring chaperones for the stars, who will sit in the training room during rehearsals.
Craig added: “All I can say is, first, chaperones are a good idea. Second, thank goodness things have changed. I had a Russian ballet teacher who used a cane to make us raise our legs higher.
“You couldn’t do that now. A choreographer can’t even touch a dancer’s arm to put it in the correct place, but at least it means everyone feels protected.”
