And after being thrown out of the marital bedroom by “raging” missus Ellie, the broken presenter fears losing his 13-year marriage – meaning he can’t sleep a wink.

The ex-Match of the Day and One Show host, now seeing a therapist to help him survive the crisis, said his head has barely hit the pillow since the BBC confronted him over inappropriate messages sent to women colleagues.

Jermaine told The Sun: “I haven’t slept properly since they told me, to be honest.

“I mean, the anxiety that builds up in your body over these types of things.

“I haven’t had any sleeping pills.

“I’ve just not been sleeping.

“You just kind of lay there, mind’s ticking over until you just pass out… it’s the only way I’m getting sleep at the minute.

“Part of me would just rather go and run until I collapse.”

The tearful star revealed devastated Ellie is focusing on their three young kids, and has not informed him if their marriage can last.

Trembling Jermaine, who also has a 16-year-old daughter from an earlier relationship, said: “When I see her most days, she just kind of gets up.

“She goes to make sure the children are okay.

“I am pretty much just kind of trying to sleep wherever I can sleep.

“I was sat on my sofa last night just watching TV all night…. sleep is not really an option.

“So I was just kind of awake all night.”

The former England, Spurs and Newcastle ace said: “I feel ashamed.

“I feel I’ve let everybody down.

“Friends, family, colleagues.

“I’m pretty much as low as I’ve ever been.”
