NYC groom-to-be killed in wrong-way crash 1 day before wedding: Report

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan (PIX11) – A Washington Heights man killed in a wrong-way crash on Henry Hudson Parkway Saturday was supposed to get married just a day later, according to the New York Post.

Kirk Walker, 38, was just one day away from his New Jersey wedding, his bride-to-be, Shauntea Weaver, told the New York Post. A spokesperson for the wedding venue confirmed to PIX11 that Walker's wedding was canceled because of the crash.

Walker was killed after a wrong-way truck driver crashed into the car he was in around 2:20 a.m. on the Henry Hudson Parkway, according to the NYPD.

Another man in the car with Walker, 40-year-old Rob McLaurin, was also killed during the crash. Police could not confirm the relationship between the two men.

Four cars were involved in the deadly crash, police said. The driver of the truck fled the scene, sources told PIX11 News. Police have not made any arrests Sunday.
