International hunt for one of Canada’s most wanted men ends – at four-storey block of flats in British town

AN international hunt for one of Canada’s most wanted men has ended — at a four-storey block of flats in Luton.

Adrian Gordon, 24, went on the run after the murder in May of champion bodybuilder Jesse Tubbs, 30.

The victim was found with gunshot injuries in a drugs hot-spot in Toronto and died in hospital from his injuries.

Gordon fled and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) appealed for information while warning the public he was “armed, violent and dangerous”.

Efforts to find him went global and officers were tipped off he was in Luton.

They sent an extradition request to the National Crime Agency in London and Gordon was nicked at The Martindales housing complex in the Bedfordshire town.

Resident Pavel Klimowicz, a student, said: “I woke up to a massive scream and found out later that the police had raided the building and arrested him.

“To know he is one of Canada’s most wanted men is crazy.

“There’s kids and families living here so thank God something worse didn’t happen.’’

Another neighbour said: “He kept himself to himself but was always polite and nice.

“It’s incredible to think he was wanted for a murder.”

The RCMP are still investigating the motive behind the “first-degree murder” of Mr Tubbs.

Gordon appeared before Westminster JPs on Tuesday last week — the day of his arrest — and was remanded in custody until September 30 pending an extradition hearing.
