Man Utd legend Gary Neville reveals shock Premier League team he ‘had massive respect for’ and would have loved to join
GARY NEVILLE has revealed the one Premier League team he “had massive respect for” and would love to have joined.
The Manchester United legend spent his entire career at Old Trafford, playing 602 times for his boyhood club.
Neville won eight Premier League titles, three FA Cups and two Champions Leagues during 19 years under Sir Alex Ferguson.
And he remains a United icon to this day.
However, Neville has risked the wrath of fans by making a bold admission.
Speaking on the Overlap, he was asked by Jamie Carragher which Premier League rival he would liked to have played for.
And amazingly, Neville declared his favourite “other” team to be Arsenal.
The Gunners were United’s fiercest rivals for years before Roman Abramovich’s Chelsea muscled in on the title.
But Neville admits he had huge respect for Arsene Wenger’s side.
He loved the way they played and also conducted themselves.

And Neville also admired them as a club with “tradition.”
He said: “I’m going to say Arsenal. Arsenal were the club that I generally had massive respect for.
“When I went to Highbury and you used to walk in that old entrance with the marble hall, I used to think it’s a club of proper tradition.
“I used to love the blazers that you used to wear and there is a resemblance in alignment for what United were at that time with the blazers and tradition.”
Liverpool legend Carragher also revealed his team, surprisingly picking Arsenal’s rivals Tottenham.
He said: “I’m going to go for Tottenham and the reason I say Tottenham is because when I was a kid they were the first team I was aware of besides Everton and Liverpool.
“My first season watching football was 1984-85 and Everton and Tottenham were going for the league.
“I always remember this as a kid – and it wouldn’t happen now with phones – as soon as the Everton game would finish, there was always a betting shop that if I lose you in the ground, to your dad, go to the betting shop.
“I always remember even as a kid, I was only seven or eight, it was ‘how have Tottenham got on?’. That was the first thing in the back of my mind.”
