Mum-of-22 Sue Radford reveals big mishap that nearly prevented daughter Millie from getting engaged in Disney proposal
EARLIER this year Millie Radford’s long-term boyfriend Harley Passmore popped the question during a family trip to Disneyland in Florida.
However, the special moment didn’t go according to plan, with Harley suffering a big mishap as he popped the question.
Parents-of-22 Sue and Noel Radford, from Morecambe, recalled the blunder in the new season of their reality series 22 Kids and Counting.
Noel recalled of the proposal day: “Harley was a bit odd wasn’t he.
“It was like ‘what’s he up to?’, he wasn’t his usual self.”
Sue added: “You could tell that he’d obviously got something on his mind.”
The Radfords managed to capture the sweet moment that Harley proposed as he and Millie stood in front of the famous Disney castle in Florida at Magic Kingdom.
Harley could be seen getting down on one knee in front of Millie – but he nearly messed up the big moment by dropping the ring.
“Oh no, where’s it gone?” Harley exclaimed, before scouring the floor for the gem, exclaiming: “Where’s it gone?”
Harley, who is dad to two out of Millie’s three kids, could be seen scrabbling around on the floor trying to locate the sparkler.
Noel could be heard saying: “He’s not lost it.”
Thankfully Millie saw the funny side of the incident: “That’s just typical Harley, nothing ever goes straight forward for him.
“This would only happen to Harley.”
Harley was miraculously able to find the ring and Millie gave him a resounding yes, although she exclaimed that “it’s a bit tight”.
When her parents said she could get the size changed, Millie replied: “I must have put a bit of timber on being here.
“Cos I was a ring size M before we got here. It’s a bit small!
“Anyways guys, wedding will be a while off yet. So we’ve all got time.”
The busy parents seemed excited for the upcoming nuptials, with Sue said: “We’ve got a wedding to prepare for.
“It’s so exciting, this is a big thing for us. We are just hoping Millie doesn’t turn into bridezilla.”
Noel chuckled: “Can you imagine?”
Millie, 23, the seventh child of parents-of-22 Sue and Noel Radford, will be walking down the aisle by the end of the year.

Millie is the seventh child and third daughter of parents-of-22 Sue and Noel Radford.
She shot to fame when the family landed their own Channel 5 show, 22 Kids and Counting, in 2018.
Millie got pregnant for the first time aged 18, and welcomed daughter Ophelia into the world in September 2020.
Millie is no longer with Ophelia’s father, whose identity remains a secret, as they broke up not long after she got pregnant.
The reality star opened up about her relationship with him and said: “He just wasn’t happy to step up and be a dad so he’s never been named.”
On February 20, 2022, she welcomed her second child, a son called Chester.
Millie kept her pregnancy secret until her due date and in March 2022, she opened up about Chester’s birth in a question time “catch up” on her Instagram stories.
She also identified Chester’s dad for the first time, revealing he was her secret boyfriend Harley Passmore.
In May 2023, Millie revealed she was expecting another child with her partner.
Her baby, a daughter named Jade, was born in September 2023.
In April 2024, Millie excitedly told fans Harley had asked her to marry him during a trip to Disneyland in Florida.
In July, mum Sue let slip that Millie and Harley will be tying the knot before the end of the year, and even shared a snap of the bride-to-be looking at potential wedding dresses.
Sue, mum to Britain’s biggest family, took to the family’s Instagram Stories to share a snap of Millie and her sister Sophie admiring bridal gowns in a local wedding store.
She let the image speak for itself and left it caption-free, simply tagging Millie on top of it.
Sue recently revealed that Millie and Harley’s wedding will be happening in 2024, as she told OK! magazine about the storylines in the new series of their Channel 5 reality show 22 Kids and Counting.
“There are lots of things in this series,” she said.
“It will show Noel’s adoption story, Millie’s engagement is very exciting – the wedding should be around the end of this year – and Katie’s gender reveal is coming.”
