Former WWE world champion, WrestleMania headliner dies
(WKBN)- Former WWE world champion Sidney Eudy, who wrestled under the names Sycho Sid, Sid Vicious and Sid Justice, has died.
The two-time WWE Champion and two-time WCW Champion was 63.
The WWE made an official announcement Monday on X. Eudy's son Gunnar wrote on Facebook that his dad had been diagnosed with cancer before his death.
"I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years," he wrote. "He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed."
Sid was in the main event of two different WrestleMania shows. He lost to Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 8 in 1992 and lost five years later to The Undertaker in 1997 at WrestleMania 13.
Fellow pro wrestler Booker T credited Sid with helping him and his brother, Stevie Ray, get their starts.
"Without Sid Vicious, I don’t think my brother and I would have made it to WCW," he wrote on X. "His impact on this business was undeniable, and he paved the way for so many of us. My deepest condolences to his family during this difficult time."
