Goa govt eyes to hike fine up to Rs 1 crore for illegal hill cutting: Minister

The Goa government has not granted permission for hill cutting in the state in the last six months, and plans to amend regulations to raise up to Rs 1 crore fines for illegal activities. Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vishwajit Rane stated that the minimum fine for violations will range from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1 crore, depending on the size of the plot.
