‘I’ve always been fascinated by what drives human emotions’

Yiannis Michael has emerged as a leading figure in the field of psychology, particularly in the treatment of panic attacks. Over the course of nearly two decades, his work has touched the lives of more than 10,000 people, earning him a reputation as a trusted authority in this often misunderstood area of mental health. Born and raised in Cyprus, Yiannis was drawn to understanding human behaviour from an early age. While pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Florida International University, Yiannis was deeply motivated by a desire to help those struggling with anxiety disorders, a commitment that became the foundation of his career.

“I’ve always been fascinated by what drives human emotions, especially the overwhelming fear that characterizes panic attacks,” Yiannis says. “Understanding these processes became my mission, and that mission has guided my work ever since.” This understanding was furthered by his Master’s research into the cognitive and physiological aspects of panic.

He developed a specialised treatment protocol known as the Repaint Your Life Bioresonance method (RYL), which integrates bioresonance therapy with cognitive-behavioral techniques, guided visualisation, and journaling. Applied at his Repaint Your Life Wellbeing Centers, it has shown success in reducing the frequency and severity of panic attacks. “Our approach is holistic. We treat both the mind and the body, understanding that they are deeply interconnected,” Yiannis explains. “The success of our method lies in addressing the root causes of panic attacks, not just the symptoms.”

Chloe suffered from panic attacks for years. Her symptoms included suffocation, tachycardia, tremors, and an overwhelming fear of a heart attack, all of which were rooted in years of repressed emotions, particularly related to her unsuccessful attempts to conceive. “Chloe was in a state of constant fear and physical distress,” says Yiannis. “When she came to me, she was desperate for a solution that would give her back control over her life.”

Chloe’s treatment began with a general detoxification of her liver, kidneys, and lymph nodes, combined with techniques to calm her nervous system. The focus then shifted to balancing her heart centre, an energy point that had been heavily affected by her grief. This balance was crucial. “Emotions like sadness and mourning can deeply impact our physical health. For Chloe, these emotions were manifesting as rapid heartbeats and intense anxiety.”

As Chloe began to notice significant changes, Yiannis introduced her to a visualisation exercise, encouraging her to adopt the powerful posture of Wonder Woman whenever she felt her anxiety rising. This exercise was designed to boost her confidence and reduce stress. “In the beginning, I may not have felt a thing,” Chloe later wrote in her diary. “But my father, who was with me at every session, could see a difference. He noticed how I looked, how I expressed myself, and how I carried my body. His belief in my progress kept me going, and I found myself looking forward to the next part of the journey.”

Yiannis’ method emphasises the connection between body and soul, recognising that physical posture and mental state are intertwined. By addressing both, he helps his clients achieve lasting change. “The goal is to empower individuals to reclaim their lives,” Yiannis says. “When we understand the mind-body connection, we can create lasting solutions that go beyond temporary relief.”

Beyond his clinical practice, Yiannis is committed to raising awareness about panic attacks and mental health. His presence on social media has been instrumental in this effort, allowing him to reach thousands of people who suffer from anxiety and panic disorders. “Social media has given me a platform to connect with people who might not otherwise have access to mental health support,” Yiannis explains. “It’s about building a community where people feel seen and heard, where they can find support and encouragement.”

Yiannis uses social media to share valuable content, including tips, resources and personal stories that resonate with his followers. This online presence has also helped him establish authority and credibility in his field, opening up opportunities for collaborations, speaking engagements, and further career growth. “By consistently delivering content, I’ve built trust with my audience,” Yiannis says. “This has allowed me to make a positive impact on a larger scale.”

Looking to the future, he envisions a global franchise dedicated to addressing panic attacks, bringing his innovative methods to a broader audience. “My mission is to solve the panic attacks pandemic on a global level,” Yiannis says. “This isn’t just about helping individuals, it’s about changing the way the world approaches mental health.”
