Terminus: Zombie Survivors – the rogue-like taking Steam by storm

There’s a new zombie game on the block. Terminus: Zombie Survivors officially launched version 1.0 last week and it already boasts a 95% positive review rating on Steam. The survival game originally debuted in 2021 via Steam Early Access. It is a turn-based rogue-like set during, you guessed it, a zombie apocalypse.

You play as one of the few non-infected, attempting to find other survivors and make it to the Terminus to evacuate. Maps are randomly generated and the player must stay alive as long as possible.

Updates from the Early Access version include new endings, improved NPC interactions, and art as well as extended gameplay.

Early Access players will also be glad to hear that their progress and data are carried over to version 1.0. Additionally, it is now supported on Steam Deck and macOS.

Terminus: Zombie Survivors isn’t just another zombie game

The 2D style and top-down view are simple but proving popular with gamers.

Gamers have praised the different feel of Terminus: Zombie Survivors. So many zombie games have been released in recent years, and new ones can often struggle to stand out from the crowd. Terminus appears to be bucking this trend.

There is no set path to follow as it is a rogue-like and the survival mechanics are complex. The player must find shelter to maintain body temperature, sleep to gain energy, and find food to fend off hunger. Weapons can be obtained by crafting or trading with NPCs.

The game offers a whopping 15 character classes, all with differing traits. Soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and farmers are all up for grabs.

Multiple endings are also now included. The six possibilities include escaping the infected by helicopter and creating a vaccine.

Terminus: Zombie Survivors is on sale until August 31 for $15.99. Get it on Steam now.
