Proposal for hotel labour agreement as early as this week

Mediation for a labour agreement in the hotel sector is expected to be put forward this week, Labour Minister Yiannis Panayiotou said on Tuesday, expressing optimism an agreement could be reached.

The proposal for the renewal of the hotel industry sectoral collective agreement will be submitted to the social partners, who anticipate they will have it by Thursday.

“I am optimistic regarding the prospect of reaching an agreement and the ministry methodically continues its efforts in this direction, with the intention of submitting a proposal to the two sides within the week,” Panayiotou said.
