Central Delhi Kings Triumph Over East Delhi Riders by 5 Wickets
In their Delhi Premier League match on Tuesday, Keshav Dabas shone with a blistering 52 not out to lead Central Delhi Kings past East Delhi Riders by five wickets.
East Delhi Riders’ Himmat Singh (63) and Anuj Rawat (61) first-inning performances were surpassed by Dabas’ 27-ball 52 at number six, moving his team to 172/5. Meanwhile, Central Delhi Kings scored 173 for five in 17.5 overs.
The much-needed boost to his side came from Dabas, who took 2/20 early on, striking at nearly 193 as he hammered three sixes and four boundaries to make an undefeated 52, especially when the batters before him failed to convert their beginnings.
Along with Aryan Rana (28), he put up 60 runs for the fifth wicket to shore up the position for Central Delhi Kings, who halfway through their chase were down to 75 for four.
Bhagwan Singh handed East Delhi Riders a vital breakthrough in the form of Rana when the team needed 41 runs off the final 24 balls, but the bowler conceded 27 runs in what turned out to be the penultimate over of the match.
Earlier, Himmat made 63 off 33 balls with six fours and three sixes, his third consecutive fifty-plus total of the competition. After putting up 65 runs for the first wicket with Sujal Singh (31), Rawat, the opening batsman, added 53 runs for the second wicket with Himmat.
Rawat made 61 from 44 balls with four fours and three sixes.
