‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ Stars Reunite After 41 Years

National Lampoon’s Vacation star Chevy Chase reunited with his scene-stealing co-star Christie Brinkley for a sweet photoshoot 41 years after the release of Harold Ramis’ classic road trip comedy.

On August 26, Chase, 80, and Brinkley, 70, shared a joint Instagram post featuring a carousel of three photos and one video. Two photos show Chase and Brinkley smiling for fans as they sit beside one another in the backseat of a car. Another shows the stars embracing at another location. In the attached video, Chase and Brinkley wave to the camera.

“Vacation is always over too soon! ????️,” Brinkley captioned the post.

Brinkley held one of the most memorable roles in Vacation despite being credited only as “The Girl in the Ferrari.” Chase’s character makes eyes at Brinkley during a cross-country road trip as his wife (Beverly D’Angelo) sleeps in the passenger’s seat. Later on in the film, Brinkley and Chase end up at the same hotel where they share a drink and later a skinny dip.

Fans were thrilled to see the two Vacation alums reunited, with some even proposing a late-era follow-up. “Wait, is this a sequel?” @mcd.joel jokingly asked. “Clark finally got the girl in the Ferrari?”

“This is greatness. Perhaps a sequel? Cue ‘Holiday Road,’” @paulamcquien said of the iconic Lindsey Buckingham track which plays throughout Vacation.

“How cute are you two!! Still one of the best movies ever!” gushed @sqb60.

National Lampoon’s Vacation is available to rent on Amazon Prime Video and all other major rental platforms.
