LASUTH COMMISSIONS TWO ULTRAMODERN DENTAL CENTRES

The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), in partnership with Messrs Oasis Nigeria Limited, has commissioned two new ultramodern Dental Suites located within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Building at the facility on Monday.

The Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, while commissioning the centres alongside representatives of Messrs Oasis and the Hospitals’s management staff, stated that the Dental Centre is a facility created to meet the growing demand of clients who seek exclusive, private, and expedited dental services.

He said “This Centre leverages the same expertise of the highly skilled consultants that LASUTH is renowned to have. We are proud to partner with Messer Oasis Nigeria Limited to whom we provided the space which they  equipped and furnished to international standards”.

“We are operating an alternative partnership Dental Centre. This facility caters to clients who are willing to pay a slightly higher fee for fast-tracked, exclusive, and private care, while benefiting from the expertise of LASUTH personnel, our consultants and experts”.

Fabamwo also noted that the SDG Building is rapidly becoming a central hub for cutting-edge medical services within LASUTH, revealing that plans are underway to commission an intensive care unit, an ultramodern modular theatre suite, and a high-dependency unit soon.

The CMD expressed his gratitude to Messrs Oasis Nigeria Limited for partnering with the hospital, especially during these challenging economic times. He also saluted Prof. Tuoyo Okoturo, the Head of the Dental Centre, in LASUTH, and his team for their hard work in conceptualising and planning this project, which has resulted in this beautiful edifice being officially opened for operations.

“We are contributing to the national efforts to retain our medical personnel and health workers. As we all know, one of the main drivers of the ‘japa syndrome’ is dissatisfaction with the working environment but Dental Surgeons working in a facility like this would have a sense of fulfilment carrying out their duties and may resist the urge to move to colder, less-friendly climates to work”, the Chief Medical Director concluded.

In a similar vein, Dr. Tuoyo Okoturo, Head of the Dental Centre, expressed deep gratitude to the Chief Medical Director of the hospital for his support. He recalled a meeting where the CMD passionately shared his vision for the Dental Centre, emphasising his consistent support for dentistry, which has always been backed by tangible actions.

Dr. Okoturo assured the CMD of the full support and commitment of himself and all the Heads of Units in the Dental Centre to ensure the success of the initiative, pledging that they would work diligently to see the project thrive as envisioned.

Mr. Frederick John, the representative of the Chief Executive Officer of Oasis Nigeria Limited, Dr. Tunde Olujobi, the LASUTH Partnership Dental Centre Manager, described the partnership with LASUTH as a significant advancement in providing top-tier healthcare to the community.

He emphasised that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and through this collaboration, Oasis Nigeria Limited aims to support standards in accessibility and excellence that LASUTH has already established in healthcare. The clinic’s dedicated team of professionals is committed to delivering personalised and compassionate care to each patient.
