British woman living in Paphos arrested for fraud

Police in Paphos arrested of a 56-year-old woman residing in the district who was wanted by British authorities for fraud.

According to the police, the woman was arrested on Tuesday around 5.30pm pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by Britain, for the purpose of criminal prosecution.

The alleged crime, committed between 2017 and 2019, concerns the embezzlement of an amount of approximately €296,000.

Assistant Paphos police chief, Michalis Nikolaou said the Paphos District Court is set to begin procedures for the 56-year-old’s extradition to Britain.
