The European Union has sent 100 million euros in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan since the beginning of the year.

The European Union stated that from the start of 2024 until now, it has provided 100 million euros in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, which is approximately 111 million dollars.

Since August 15, 2021, the European Union has continued its humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, UNICEF recently warned that 23.7 million people in Afghanistan will need humanitarian aid this year.

According to their statement, the European Union’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Operations office will allocate 13 million euros to combat malnutrition and support child education in Afghanistan.

UNICEF will use this budget to procure 62,000 ready-to-use therapeutic food packages and train 1,600 health workers to treat severe acute malnutrition in children under five.

The UN Children’s Fund has warned that nearly 2.9 million children are at risk of severe acute malnutrition this year in Afghanistan.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimates that approximately 23.7 million people in Afghanistan require humanitarian assistance.

The ongoing humanitarian aid efforts by the European Union and other international organizations are crucial in addressing the urgent needs of the Afghan population, especially children and vulnerable groups affected by conflict and instability.
