Lucknow Super Giants soon to Release KL Rahul before IPL 2025? Sanjiv Goenka Gives a Big hint
Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction, one of the players who has lights on him is KL Rahul. There are big doubts if the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will keep their skipper after the failure of team in reaching the playoffs in 2024 season.
Actually, Rahul and Sanjiv Goenka, who is the owner of LSG, found themselves in between probably the biggest controversy of the 17th season after LSG’s 10-wicket defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
After the game, Goenka was seen having a chat with KL Rahul, and the visuals of the conversation have sparked furiosity within the Indian cricket fraternity.
Since then, it has been greatly rumoured that Rahul is going to leave LSG before the mega auctions in 2025. However, the LSG captain and owner is reported to meet each other earlier time of this week.
Goenka spoke on the silence regarding the status of Rahul in the franchise before the 2025 IPL and named KL as one of the important player of the LSG family. However, he did not give any confirmation regarding the retention of any player until the BCCI announced the new retention rules.
“I am surprised this meeting is getting so many attention. As I said earlier, we have not given any thoughts on retention until the BCCI comes up with the rules. All I can say that KL has been an important and integral part of the Super Giants family. He has been there since the inception. He has played a very important role. For me personally, he is like family and will be family,” said Goenka.
