Pedestrian dies after being hit by Tesla driver on beachfront
A man has died after being hit by a Tesla on the beachfront in Great Yarmouth.
The summer holidays took a sad turn in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, after fatal crash involving a white Tesla Model 3.
A man in his 30s was hit by the driver of the luxury car on South Beach Parade at about 9.43pm yesterday.
The pedestrian died after sustaining serious injuries.
The tragic incident sparked a huge emergency response near the popular Great Yarmouth beach and the road was shut for hours.
Now the driver of the Tesla, a man in his 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.
The road was reopened at about 2.40am this morning.
Officers are appealing to any witnesses of the collision to come forward or anyone with dashcam footage.
