Man arrested for allegedly biting dog in Manhattan, police say

MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man was taken into police custody on Wednesday for allegedly biting his dog on the Upper East Side, police said. 

On Saturday, officers from the 19th precinct responded to a 911 call for an animal assault. The incident occured at 150 East 86 Street, police said. 

Property records show the address is for an H&M store. 

A male, 24, allegedly bit his dog and grabbed the dog with force. He has been arrested and charged with assault and for violating the New York Agriculture and Markets Law, police said. 

The man has not been identified, and it remains unclear what breed the dog was.
