Tudor Takes the Stage at the Grand Prix Cyclistes de Quebec et Montreal

Tudor & SHARP

Tudor has long been known for making some of the world’s best sports watches, a legacy that makes its Black Bay and Pelagos diver watches among the most coveted pieces in their categories. Recently, however, Tudor has expanded the scope of its operations to an increasing number of elite global sporting events from Formula 1 racing to MLS pro soccer to UCI WorldTour cycling. As the world’s foremost cycling competition series, UCI WorldTour holds events worldwide, including the Grand Prix Cyclistes de Quebec et de Montreal, the only two events to take place in North America. This summer, as the next stage of its growing presence in high-level international sports Tudor will be on the ground in Montreal as the event’s official timekeeper.

The Grand Prix Cyclistes de Quebec et de Montreal consists of two one-day Men’s Elite road races in September, one winding its way through Quebec City on September 13th, and the other in the heart of Montreal on September 15th. As some of the most prestigious cycling events in Canada, the races will see some of the world’s top cyclists vie for the fastest time. Among them will be Switzerland’s Tudor Pro Cycling Team led by Olympic and World Championship-winning cyclist and Tudor brand ambassador Fabian “Spartacus” Cancellara.

Whether or not Tudor fans are familiar with Cancellara’s legacy and the fast-paced world of the UCI WorldTour, they’ll likely be familiar with the watches worn by members of the Tudor Pro Cycling Team. The first piece was a Tudor Black Bay Chrono made exclusively for Cancellara and his teammates. With a matt black PVD-coated case, a red-accented dial, and a black and red textile strap to match the team’s livery, the watch helped to put the spotlight on the Tudor Pro Cycling Team as it geared up for the 2023 season.

This year, Tudor added another cycling watch to its lineup, a non-limited edition available at Tudor boutiques worldwide. The Tudor Pelagos FXD Chrono carries forward the red and black aesthetic of the Tudor Black Bay Chrono while adding new features and new functionality. Housed in a 43mm black carbon composite case whose “FXD” fixed strap bar design was created with input from Marine Nationale, an elite unit of the French Navy, the new watch is both lightweight and sturdy – essential features in a sport where every gram counts. Its dial also features a tachymetre scale specially calibrated for cyclists, making it as functional as it is stylish. That also makes it the ultimate accessory for this year’s Grand Prix Cyclistes de Quebec et Montreal, whether you’re riding in the race or cheering from the sidelines.
