‘How did I spend that much?’ Chloe Ferry stocks up on cleaning products in B&M, but the haul cost leaves her stunned
IT’S a store known for its low prices and bargain buys.
But Chloe Ferry was left stunned by the cost of her B&M haul when she and her mum hit their local one to stock up on bits for the Geordie Shore star’s new house.
Chloe, 28, took to TikTok to document the shopping trip, as she began: “I’m moving house next week, so we’re gonna get loads of new cleaning products ready for the new house.”
She started with toilet roll, as she compared the price of Andrex toilet roll and a cheaper alternative.
“Can you believe the difference in price?” Chloe marvelled.
“£7.49 and £2.49, I’m getting the f**king cheaper one, me!”
She then spotted some matte black velvet hangers, which she said would be “perfect inside my new dressing room”.
“So I took every single one off the shelf!” she admitted.
“Sorry B&M, but I need some more!”
Chloe then put some bin bags, Pink Stuff stain remover, Fairy washing up liquid, washing machine and dishwasher tablets and Dettol spray and wipes in the trolley.
“Mum wanted these rubber gloves,” Chloe said.
” Guys, do you use rubber gloves when you’re cleaning, or do you just use bare hands?
“Because I’m more of a bare hands girl!”
She couldn’t resist trying out some of the air fresheners, although admitted she feels like “such a crook” when she does so.
“You’ve got to try before you buy, but some scents are just disgusting,” she said.
“And that went in me f**king mouth, so I didn’t go with that one!” she laughed.
She got some plug in diffusers for her dressing room and bedroom, before continuing the cleaning product haul with window cleaner, bleach and Vac N’ Fresh.
Chloe then added some plastic organisers into her trolley, as she explained: “I want to be more organized in this house.”
How to save money at B&M
Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app.
The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.
Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.
The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.
Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:
- Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
- Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
- You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
- Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
- If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
- You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.
She concluded the shopping trip with a match cloche and some matte nude mugs.
But when she got to the till, she couldn’t believe how much she’d managed to spend – £116.96.
“How have I just spent £120 on cleaning products?” she raged.
“But oh well, at least I got them fabulous cups!”
“Cleaning products are expensive these days,” Chloe added in the video caption.
She also wrote over the top of the clip: “How did I spend that much in B&M?!”
“Having an obsession with cleaning products is so expensive,” one person admitted in the comments section.
“B&M is lethal! It’s like a black hole,” another added.
As a third told Chloe to “get yourself down Home Bargains“.
“32 toilet rolls for only £8.99!” they wrote.
