My hair was falling out & I got bald spots – it wrecked my confidence, but a £6 Boots buy I use once a week saved me

A CASH-SAVVY beauty lover has revealed the bargain buy which cured her hair loss and stopped her brunette tresses from thinning.

On average, we lose anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs a day, but we don’t tend to notice as these strands are usually replaced with new hair.

However, hair loss is completely different and can be very distressing, having a negative impact on your confidence.

There are just as many reasons you might be experiencing hair loss as there are products to tackle it – but with so many options on the high street, it can be overwhelming to find the right one.

Luckily, one beauty buff, Victoria Underwood, has come to rescue with the miracle buy that saved her locks – and you can find it for a mere £6 at your local Boots.

The secret bargain behind the epic hair makeover is no other than the viral rosemary oil that everyone seems to be talking about these days.

With claims that it will help boost hair growth, people are using the natural oil, which has become a sensation online, to restore their tresses after suffering from hair loss.

The budget-friendly beauty buy ”may support circulation, which may prevent hair follicles from being starved of blood supply, dying off, and leading to hair loss”, reported Health Line.

As well as stimulating hair growth, some beauty buffs people use the essential oil to prevent premature greying and even tackle dandruff.

According to research by Trusted Source, the TikTok-hyped sensation ”may benefit nerve tissue by increasing nerve growth factor” – which, in turn, may boost hair growth and skin health.

Raving about the purse-friendly treatment, Victoria told her TikTok followers: ”Rosemary oil! I’ve been struggling with hair loss and hair thinning for so long and it has really effected my confidence, this product has changed my life and my hair!

”Rosemary oil has doubled my hairs thickness!”

Demonstrating how she used the oil – Boots Rosemary Oil 48ml will set you back £6 – the brunette beauty said she only applied it once a week when it was time to wash her tresses.

Using the oil on dry hair before popping into the shower, Victoria divided her locks into smaller sections and chucked a few drops of the treatment directly onto her scalp.

The leave-in time varies – sometimes it can be as little as 20 minutes but on other occasions Victoria will let it work its magic for a few hours, she explained in the video.

After first buying the product in January 2022, the young woman – who claimed to have suffered from hair loss since her teenage years – she used it ”once or twice” before forgetting about the essential oil.

Can rosemary oil treat hair loss?

It's all the rage on social media - but can rosemary oil really treat hair loss?

According to Health Line, ”the idea that rosemary oil encourages hair growth may come from the rosemary’s basic health benefits.”

Rosemary essential oil contains compounds that may:

  • have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties
  • support wound healing
  • promote nerve growth
  • improve circulation.

Research suggests that rosemary essential oil may support hair growth for some people.

However, despite the hype, ”additional research is still needed to support this further and determine in which cases it is and isn’t effective”.

However, it all changed when a video popped up on her feed where a person was showing off the jaw-dropping difference in the thickness of their tresses and Victoria decided to give it another go – this time, properly.

”The thing with rosemary oil is you have to be consistent with it – you can’t use it once a month, you need to use it regularly.”

On top of sticking to a strict rosemary oil routine, the beauty buff also likes giving her scalp a massage, which is another great way to stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles.

”I am really serious about my hair-growing journey and I am so dedicated now that I’ve seen some amazing results.

”Because having thin hair, seeing bald spots and just falling out makes you feel so, so insecure.

”I can’t wait to see where my hair is in six months,” said Victoria who didn’t advise to use the treatment with extensions, as the oil may affect the glue.

”I always had to have two thick rows of hair extensions – and the last time that I had my hair appointment, me and my hairdresser agreed that I only need one row of extensions because my hair has gone so much thicker.

”I swear by this – […] and if you are suffering from hair loss and it’s affecting you, just try.”
