I’m an Oasis superfan – here are ten tips to scoring a ticket for their reunion tour

OASIS’ long-awaited reunion tour is in such high demand that fans crashed the band’s official website before Liam and Noel Gallagher had even confirmed their reunion tour.

Experts are expecting Oasis’ epic comeback to be the most popular ticketed event in history.

This would surpass the phenomenal popularity of the Taylor Swift concerts that saw consumers spending nearly £1billion attending her Eras Tour.

But with just 1,066,888 tickets, outstripped by demand four times that – how can you secure a golden ticket?

Here, Oasis superfan Nikki Watkins shares the ten top tips for making sure you land the prized passes when they go on sale on Saturday morning.

CREATE AN ACCOUNT IN ADVANCE:

It might sound obvious, but you should register in advance with the ticket selling website of your choice, either Ticketmaster, Gigs and Tours or See Tickets to save wasting precious queue time signing up online.

If you already have an account, make sure your profile is in order with your up-to-date bank details and address –  as taking time to correct this could lose you your place in the queue.

DO NOT GET DERAILED BY BANKING:

If you’re signed up to Verified by Visa or Mastercard Secure Code, make sure that you know your password before tickets go on sale.

The time it takes to find this information could, again, lose you your prized place in line.

REFRESH PAGE 10 SECONDS BEFORE SALE STARTS:

The temptation is high to jump on the ticket page in advance of the 9am sale time for tickets in the UK on Saturday, or 8am for Dublin tickets.

But this could put you at a disadvantage, as sitting on the event page waiting for the timer to countdown to zero before an event goes on sale means the page will then need to refresh when tickets are released, which might slow you down.

Instead, refreshing the page 10 seconds before the release time improves your chances of getting to the front of the queue – so aim to do so at 08:59:50.

Do not refresh your screen.

If you find yourself stuck on a comically high number in a virtual queue, once the tickets have gone live, avoid the temptation to refresh as doing so will cause you to lose your place and you will be booted to the back of the queue.

If you don’t get tickets within the first three to four minutes, statistically your next best chance is at around seven to eight minutes after the sale opens when others drop out.

USE AN APP FOR MORE SUCCESS:

Experts reckon it is quicker to get to the front of a queue on an app than on an internet browser.

Sites may prioritise mobile sales because scalping bots – software used to purchase bulk goods online – may not work on mobile devices.

AVOID ‘ARE YOU HUMAN?’ TESTS:

When you use mobile ticket seller apps you also bypass having to enter the security question to check if you are human, often called CAPTCHA and often with a question like: ‘Click all images that contain bikes.’

This sounds like a small obstacle, but if you enter the wrong CAPTCHA this can be a huge setback in time and ultimately lose you a ticket.

TURN ON TICKET SITE NOTIFICATIONS:

There is speculation that if you turn on notifications from the Ticketmaster app, it makes it more likely to not make you use a time-wasting security code.

This may only apply on certain mobile phones, but may be worth a try.

USE MORE THAN ONE DEVICE:

Never use multiple tabs for ticket-selling sites as this could lead to your sale being cancelled.

It is claimed that ticket selling sites see the use of multiple tabs on the same machine as a trick used by scalping bots, and the transaction will be cancelled.

Play it safe and stick to using all of the separate devices you have instead: your mobile, laptop, PC and drag your kid’s tablets into the fray too.

DO NOT GIVE UP IF LOOKS SOLD OUT:

Websites appear to release tickets in small batches and tickets may get kicked back after a failed purchase.

So on Oasis ticket D-Day more could become available sporadically after the sale opens.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A STEADY INTERNET CONNECTION:

If you lose internet connection, even for a second, you may have to start a booking transaction all over again.

Make sure that you’re using a steady internet connection, if you’re using a mobile, you may want to try using WI-FI rather than 4G or 5G in case you lose signal.

RESTART DEVICES THE DAY BEFORE SALES GO LIVE:

Restart your chosen devices the day before ticket sales are opened as it can help resolve many technical issues and improve performance.

This is imperative as you do not want your  computer to crash minutes before the tickets go live.
