Man, 31, charged as chef, 41, who worked with Gordon Ramsay in critical condition after Notting Hill Carnival ‘attack’
A MAN has been charged after a top chef, who worked with Gordon Ramsay, was left fighting for his life at Notting Hill Carnival.
Cops found Mussie Imnetu, 41, unconscious with a head injury in Queensway, West London, at 11.22pm on Monday.
They provided emergency first aid until paramedics arrived and Mussie remains critically ill in hospital.
The Swedish national was visiting the UK on business from Dubai where he lived and worked as a chef.
He left The Arts Club on Dover Street shortly after 1pm on Monday.
Then he arrived at Dr Power restaurant in Queensway at around 10.30pm and was still alone, the force added.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man at an address in Newham on suspicion of attempted murder in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The force have now confirmed Omar Wilson, 31, will appear in court tomorrow in relation to the attack.
He was charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent on Thursday.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “A man will appear in court tomorrow in relation to the attack on Mussie Imnetu in the vicinity of Notting Hill Carnival on Monday.
“Omar Wilson, 31, of Napier Road, Leytonstone was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning on suspicion of attempted murder.
“On Thursday he was charged with causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and was remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 30 August.
“At 11.22pm on Monday, officers who were deployed as part of the Notting Hill Carnival policing operation became aware of a man who was unconscious with a head injury in Queensway, W2. They provided emergency first aid until paramedics arrived.
“The man, later identified as 41-year-old Mussie who was visiting the UK from Dubai, was taken to a west London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
“Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continue to appeal for anyone with information about the incident, or Mussie’s movements earlier in the day, to come forward.

Mussie was spotted leaving The Arts Club on Dover Street alone.
Between the hours of 1pm and 10.30pm Mussie’s whereabouts are not yet known
10.30pm
The chef arrived at Dr Power restaurant in Queensway, still alone.
11.20pm
The Met Police believe Mussie was attacked at this time.
Customers at the venue tried to intervene.
11.22pm
Some two minutes later, cops found Mussie unconscious with a head injury.
