White Sox second baseman Lenyn Sosa took a throw to the face because he wasn't paying attention

No matter how bad the White Sox think this season can get, they somehow find a new way to be miserable.

Even the throw down to second base between innings can turn into a struggle for this team.

During Wednesday night’s game against the Rangers — the same game where Rangers left fielder Travis Jankowski robbed a would-be, walk-off home run — play had to be briefly stopped before the start of the eighth inning because second baseman Lenyn Sosa got hurt during warmups.

Basically, as catcher Korey Lee was doing the customary throw down to second base, Sosa looked down to pick something up near the bag. When he looked up, the ball was already at his face.

That had to hurt. But how does that even happen? Sosa had to know the throw was coming. After all, he was standing at the bag for it.

Sosa would stay in the game as the White Sox took their 102nd loss of the season.
