A burglar prowling and terrorizing a neighborhood left a bizarre note for a homeowner after breaking in, cooking and eating spaghetti and washing the dishes.

The homeowner at the Clearwood gated community near Yelm in Washington state said he returned home from a trip on Friday morning to find a message written on a napkin on his kitchen table.

It read: ‘I really needed food Badly I broke into your house Please forgive me, I ate your food and washed my clothes and showered.

‘P.S. your popcorn maker wasn’t working properly.’

Eddie Andujo told KING 5, ‘I thought it was a joke at first.’ But he quickly saw that it was not.

His kitchen window was broken, with glass scattered across the sink and area.

The bandit ‘made spaghetti’, Andujo said.

‘But the funny part is, he washed his dishes. So he was a nice crook I guess, I don’t know… And he folded the blankets he used.’

The intruder did not make off with any of Andujo’s belongings.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the unidentified man wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, gray pants and black shoes.

Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they know who the suspect is and conducted a K9-assisted search in the community on Sunday, but he remains at large.

Another homeowner, Bethany Stirber, said the suspect broke into her car and found her garage and gate key and tried to enter her garage while she was home.

‘We scared him off, but then he keeps coming back. And then every time we call the cops, it’s too – there’s too much time,’ she told the TV station, adding that she spotted him on Sunday again.

‘I called 911. I could hear them, and they couldn’t hear me. And they didn’t get here in time. He got away.’

Homeowner Ashley O’Neil said she and her husband also tried to catch the bandit, but that he got away.

‘You never know where he is lurking,’ said O’Neil. ‘To be honest, and it’s scary.’

It isn’t the first weird act to come from a note between a homeowner and a stranger.

Last summer, an Amazon driver was recorded diving into the pool of a home in Gardena, California, after reading a note left there the homeowner stating: ‘If you want to go for a swim, you are welcome to.’
